| Description | The world's oldest surviving public railway viaduct, this originally carried the line from Kilmarnock to Troon before the track was relocated to a new viaduct further south (barely visible in the background). Saved from collapse and preserved in the mid-nineties. Two swans sit at the bottom of the centre support, but dozens of empty bottles at the river side spoil this otherwise scenic area between Gatehead and Springside. |
