Laigh Milton Viaduct

Submitted by SGM
Name Laigh Milton Viaduct
Distance 0.21 miles from KA2
Description The world's oldest surviving public railway viaduct, this originally carried the line from Kilmarnock to Troon before the track was relocated to a new viaduct further south (barely visible in the background). Saved from collapse and preserved in the mid-nineties. Two swans sit at the bottom of the centre support, but dozens of empty bottles at the river side spoil this otherwise scenic area between Gatehead and Springside.
