| Description | 200 Kedleston Road. A proper malt vinegar brewery that made beer then oxidised the ethanol to acetic acid in acetifiers where beer dripped over wooden twigs against a flow of air. A mould on the twigs performed enzymatic oxidation. A steam engine drove the plant and remained in use until at least 1985. it is now at Derby Industrial Museum. |
