| Name | Last picture of Mackay's jam factory chimney |
| Distance | 0.14 miles from DD7 7DB |
| Description | As the local paper the Guide and Gazzette termed it "A Carnoustie landmark has finally been demolished". The chimney has already been removed and the rest of the factory is in the process of being demolished to make way for housing. No notice was given of the demolition, but luckily I took this picture at the start of the month. The factory was originally built by Bert and George Mackay of Dundee to process carrots. Production moved to jam for which the company is now famous. Jam continues to be made in the new factory on the Kirkton industrial Estate Arbroath. |
