| Name | Gibson House Memorial Home, Egremont |
| Distance | 0.02 miles from CH44 0HN |
| Description | This was built in 1906 as flats for the widows of merchant seamen. It is named after Andrew Gibson, a wealthy cotton merchant, who made a donation towards the construction of the building and provided other welfare facilities. The building was owned in recent times by NUMAST and they were getting permission from the Charity Commission to 'dispose' of the building, which would be highly sought after if put up for sale. Unfortunately, it does not meet the criteria for a listed building. |
